The Westgate is praised for its fantastic location in the center of Winchester, offering excellent access to shops, restaurants, and sights like the Tower St multi-story car park. Guests often highlight the comfortable and spacious rooms, which include amenities like tea/coffee facilities, and some even have a fridge. The pub downstairs is a convenient feature, although some guests have noted the steep staircase to the upper floors can be challenging with luggage. Many consider the breakfast exceptional, particularly the Full English and Eggs Benedict, also pointing out that it's really good value for money.

I stayed in a Superior Double Room . The location was great. It was a short walk from the train station (very convenient!).
The room did not have a chest of drawers.

Acceptable Stay with Noted Issues

acceptable locationnon-functional extractor fanpoor water pressure
The location proved acceptable.
The lack of cleanliness in the bathroom was noticeable. There was a build-up of dirt and the extractor fan did not function (making the room humid after showers). The water pressure was also notably poor.
